Preston Sartelle


Founding Principal, RockBridge Group

Preston specializes in both estate planning and institutional insurance transactions with Capital Strategies Group in Birmingham, AL.  He is married to Kristin, and they have three children.  The Sartelles are members of Covenant Presbyterian Church, and Preston grew up attending First Presbyterian Church, Yazoo City.  Preston is an RYM alumni, and attended his first conference at the age of 3 in 1080.  A graduate of Washington & Lee University, Preston obtained a degree in Accounting and is a CFA charter-holder. 

Mike Alston

Compliance Officer

Partner, Husch Blackwell | Chattanooga, Tennessee

Mike is an attorney licensed in both Tennessee and Alabama.  He has been a commercial litigator for more than twenty years and is currently a partner in the Chattanooga office of Husch Blackwell LLP.  He received his law degree from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama in 1989 after graduating from Texas A&M University with a business management degree. 

He and his wife of twenty years, Lynnette, have three children and are members of First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga.  He is a ruling elder who has served on the World Missions Executive Committee at FPCC for more than ten years and has been chairman of that committee for the last nine years.   He served on MTW’s board of directors (CMTW) from 2007-2012, is currently an advisor on that board and also serves on CMTW’s Business as Missions Committee and Investment Advisory Group. 

Rev. Scott Lowe


Senior Pastor, Grace Church Presbyterian | Fort Collins, Colorado

Scott is the Senior Pastor at Grace Church Presbyterian in Fort Collins, Colorado.  Scott is originally from Memphis, TN, and a graduate of the University of Memphis as well as Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS.  He moved out to Colorado in 2004 to lead worship for the newly planted church by Richard Rieves.  Scott has a long history with RYM including helping with the administrative duties for several years.  Scott and his wife, Amy, have two children. 

Ron Jones


Ron has been in the financial services industry for 30 years, having served in leadership roles with both regional and community banks.  After working at a large community bank in Chattanooga for 16 years, he left in January of 2019 to lead the start-up of SouthEast Bank in Chattanooga, TN.  Originally from Birmingham, Al, he received his undergraduate degree from Samford University and later his MBA from University of Tennessee in Chattanooga.  He and Lynn have been married for 30+ years and have four sons and a daughter.  He and Lynn reside on Signal Mountain, just outside of Chattanooga.  He and Lynn attend First Presbyterian Church Chattanooga where he has served previously as an elder and is presently serving on the FPCC World Mission Board Executive Committee. 

Ashley Clark

Mrs. Clark is a founding board member of One Hundred Shares Houston, an evangelical giving circle for women focused on poverty issues.  She has developed a strong sense of purpose and devotion to the nonprofit sector, specifically generosity, as she has been a beneficiary of great teaching combined with real life experiences.  Ashley also serves on the board of directors for National Christian Foundation Houston, is a member-at-large of the Texas Exes at the University of Texas, and tutors at a Houston elementary school.  Ashley obtained a B.S. in Organizational Communication from the University of Texas.  Ashley is also a wife, mother, volunteer and interior designer. 

Rev. Cyril Chavis, Jr. 

RUF Campus Minister, Howard University | Washington, D.C.

Rev. Cyril Chavis, Jr. grew up in Virginia Beach, VA. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in Religious Studies in 2013 and graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson with a MDIV in 2017. Cyril served RUF at Jackson State in several different capacities - as an intern, campus associate, and campus pastor - from 2014 to 2019. In the fall of 2019, he moved to D.C. to become the campus pastor of RUF at Howard University. Cyril has a wife, Jenell Chavis, and two children: Aria Chavis ('17) and Elise Chavis ('19). 

Rev. Kurt Cooper

Minister to Youth, Trinity Presbyterian Church | Montgomery, Alabama

Kurt was born in Charleston, South Carolina, but calls Tupelo, Mississippi, his hometown.  He is married to Marty, also from Tupelo, and they have one son, Campbell.  Kurt received a B.A. in business administration from Mississippi State University, and his M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary.  He serves as the Minister to Youth at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, AL.

David Duren

CEO & Founder, Kinected Energy Solutions, LLC | Houston, Texas

David, a native from Houston, is a graduate from Texas A&M University with degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science.  Currently he serves as the CEO & Founder of Kinected Energy Solutions, LLC and CEO of Duren Investment Partners, LLC.  He previously served as CEO of Relevant Solutions, LLC, President of Wilson Mohr, LLC, and President of Airdyne International, LLC with extensive success building scale and value through private equity investments. David serves on the Session and Governance Commission of Christ the King Presbyterian Church in Houston, TX, as well as the Leadership Council for the Association of Former Students and Director for the Industrial Distribution Board of Advisors at Texas A&M University. 

David and his wife Gretchen have been married 25 years and are parents to five children.  Through training and educating their own children, to volunteering and teaching through church, community, and charitable causes, they have always shared a passion and responsibility of pointing youth of all ages to Christ. 

Rev. Les NewsoM

Lead Pastor, Christ Presbyterian Church | Oxford, Mississippi

A native of Memphis, TN, Les graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in 1994. Soon afterwards, he planted the RUF chapter at The University of Memphis, his alma mater. After meeting his wife, Ginger Hubbard, on campus, he served another 5 years before moving to Oxford, MS in 1999 to be the RUF Campus Minister at Ole Miss. In 2011, he became an RUF Area Coordinator for the Midsouth region. In 2018, he took the call to be the Lead Pastor at Christ Presbyterian Church. He has three children: Anna Grace (’99), Caroline (’01), and Luke (’04). 

Rev. John Trapp

RUF Campus Minister, University of Texas | Austin, Texas

John, originally from Alabama, graduated from Vanderbilt University where he was heavily involved in RUF.  He then served on staff at Christ the King Presbyterian in Houston, TX from 2008-2014.  While he was originally called to CTK as the Director of Student Ministries, John finished his time as the Director of Children and Student Ministries, where he developed a cohesive ministry to children from birth through high school.  In 2014, John moved to Austin, TX to attend Redeemer Theological Seminary.  He graduated in 2016 with an MDiv. and was called to be the RUF Campus Minister at the University of Texas – Austin.  John and his wife, Chrissy, have five children.

Jennifer VanLoh
